As many of you may know, CBRES has been undergoing a ROM, the outcomes which will help CBRES become a more strategic organization. The Downtown Conference Centers will be affected by this reorganization, so I would like to tell you about the changes and what adjustments you will need to make going forward.
As I’ve faced this ROM personally, it has caused me to consider more thoroughly where my interests lie. Chevron has taught me that the ideal match for both employee and company is a position where talent, business needs and passion intersect. Looking throughout the organization, I have found that my passions weren’t easily lining up with the needs of the business. I came to the conclusion that this ROM was also an opportunity for me to pursue my passion in my own small business. I have truly enjoyed the work I’ve done here, have been changed by the people I’ve worked with, and have been impressed and impacted over and over by the Chevron culture. I am proud to be an employee of Chevron and I am proud to work for CBRES. I have given much of myself to this Conference Center and I genuinely want to see it continue and succeed as an effective and professional service to the organization. It was my purpose in expressing my interest to be left standing that CBRES would have the most effective people in place to pursue the goals of CBRES’ five-year strategy and that I would be left with time and resources to pursue my next career ambitions. My last day with Chevron will be Friday, November 4, 2011.
“Don’t Stop Believin’”
As I go, I want to assure you that your meetings and special events will be well-handled by the Conference Center staff. I am currently compiling all of the documentation for the 20+ special events scheduled between now and the end of the year to ensure that the staff will know exactly where each event and meeting stands and that the transition of responsibilities will be seamless.
“With A Little Help From My Friends”
I’m pleased to tell you that my coworker and my other coworker will hold the roles of Event Coordinators for Downtown Houston. Both have experience in the Conference Centers since the grand opening of Level 40 at 1500 Louisiana. Moving forward, please contact them directly for any Conference Center inquiries.
“Don’t You Forget About Me”
It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve you in the 1500 Louisiana Conference Center over the last nearly three years. I have been blessed to know each one of you. I cannot tell you how much I have loved what I do here and how much your “thank yous” and encouraging words have meant to me. As I look forward to the new opportunities on my horizon, I will also be looking back with fondness at the experiences of my role here and, more importantly, the relationships I have developed during my time here. Thank you!
