I captured these beauties today.
Today's hike was a reminder that sometimes we need to focus on the journey and not the destination. Being the goal-oriented person that I am, that's not an easy task for me. Today, it was a necessity. We took a hike to to Middle Fork Lake, a two-mile journey up a mountain. We were about 1/4 of a mile from the top and only had about eight more switchbacks (which were all promised to be shorter) of the twenty-six on the trail. The air was getting cooler and the sky was getting more ominous. We stopped to wait for the group to catch up and to catch our breath, when the sky opened up and rained down on us. Cold raindrops were soaking us and in one breath our guide, Dakota, told us it was up to us whether to finish the trip up to the lake or to head back. In the next breath, he made a decision that with all the children on the hike, it was in our best interest to head down and avoid the risk of hypothermia... smart kid. By the time we had dragged Lexi back down to the trail head where we were parked, the stormy clouds were in the distance and the crystal clear blue was shining through a few fluffy white clouds. Perfect. I grabbed my shot.

Steps to Participate:

1. Take the daily photo
2. Upload your photo to a photo-hosting site or your blog. Add http://lifeuncontainable.blogspot.com/2011/08/day-3-clouds.html to the caption of your photo.
3. Grab the url code of the photo by right-clicking it and "copy and paste" it into the link tool posted at the bottom of each day.  If you have trouble adding it with a thumbnail, just select "Generic"... that seems to work, even on Facebook.
4. Check out other people's work. Be a friend and like people's posts. It's encouraging to get positive feedback!
