Memoires of a Momma

A collection of mommy photos...
(well, at least the ones that are not frozen on my hard drive!)

I feel so blessed every single day to be my kids' mama!

Glam, Goals and Going out!

Sneak peak of my dress for Rob doB and Whitney's wedding next Saturday...
Ordered yesterday.  Cannot wait!

(Not excited about wearing flats with it, but I'm not even four weeks out from surgery yet.  Three more months to go!)

We had a chance to catch the Aeros game with some friends for Ryan's birthday party.
The Aeros lost, but (according to Randy, whom I believe is correct), the score was:
Admirals     5
Aeros         2
Fans           1

That's right, folks!  The score was Admirals 4, Aeros 2.  The ref didn't see the puck go into the net, hit the top of the net and bounce back down outside of the goal.  We threw such a fit, yelling and booing, that they stopped play and reviewed the tape and awarded the goal to the Aeros.  The bad news is that it was answered with another Admiral goal within 10 seconds.  First goal I've ever scored in a minor league hockey game!

It was fun to be with old friends.  Elaine and I were marveling at the streak we're on seeing each other on a regular basis.  Looking forward to hanging with her again on Thursday this week for a play with the girls.  (Of course, I'll fill y'all in with pics and more!)

Tonight is date night.  I {heart} date night!  He's my fave.  Ever.  Just sayin'.

Playing with our food

After a trip to the grocery store today, I invited the kids to help me make a snack, but I didn't tell them what we were making.  I laid out all the ingredients for them and we dove in.  They tried to guess what it was going to be throughout the process.

Shopping List:
Rice Krispies
Marshmallows
Butter
Fruit by the Foot
Swedish Fish
Kazoobles

It really wasn't until we finished the first roll and sliced it that Justus finally guessed it was...
Kids' "Sushi"!

We had a blast rolling our Kids' "Sushi" together!

It turned out so fun and cheery!

And now for the taste test...

Verdict: It's fun and delicious to play with our food!

Wanna make your own?  {Here's} a great tutorial!

Home is where the heart is

Spring cleaning is taking the shape of a little-by-little process around my house.  It's being done in 15 minute chunks of time.  And that's okay.  It may take me until next spring, but we're making progress!

Speaking of the home, I was reminded of the importance of having and practicing an emergency plan, especially if you have small children.  (I had to renew my High Rise Emergency Preparedness Training at work this afternoon.)  Jeremy and I really don't have one, but it is on the To Do List for tomorrow.  Here are some tips about how to create and practice a plan:  {E.D.I.T.H. Exit Drills In The Home}.  This is really important!  We take for granted the training we have for how to get out safely.  Kids don't instinctively know what to do, so it's really critical to teach them.

We spent our Cinco de Mayo at home with friends.  Jeremy made enough fajitas to feed a small army!  We had a great time hanging out with {the Sweet T Family}!

Tomorrow is Friday... This week that means a short, casual day at work, then home, home, HOME for the weekend!
